TEHRAN – Iranian Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri on Sunday congratulated the appointment of Ahmed Ouyahia as the prime minister of Algeria.

In a message, Jahangiri wished success for Ouyahia and prosperity for the Algerian people.

He also hoped for expansion of ties between Iran and Algeria.

Ouyahia had been the prime minister of Algeria from 1995 to 1998, 2003 to 2006, and 2008 to 2012. He was once again appointed as prime minister on August 16.
